I was aware of a range of emotions – from anticipation and excitement to see her wedding dress to deep sorrow about her too-soon departure from Earth to gratitude for her important contribution to world peace. Princess Diana was truly a healer and embodies all that the book Women as Healers is about.

I went with my goddaughter, dear friend and her mom … it was a great Girl’s outing! And since the next stop is Louisville, KY, I may have the opportunity to visit it again with my mom and sister.

I first met Louise Gangelhoff of Fruits of the Spirit Salon/Spa when I was playing the harp at an Open House for Hazelden’s new facility in Chaska. She was doing hand massage for those attending. I was drawn to her quiet confidence and gentle manner. Scheduling a consult with her, she treated me with upmost respect and really listened to me (wow, what a novel idea!!). For her, hair styling is an art form where her job is to match the clients’ desires with her creativity. When I walk out of her salon with wonderful color and a great cut, I realize how important a hair stylist is not only to our appearance but for our confidence and overall energy.

She makes a different to me … and to all of her clients. I feel lucky to have found her!

I will be taking this training in July along with several Mayo nurses … looking very forward!

The Beyond Surgery^® Program is a protocol of interactive coaching and integrative healing therapies to support individuals as they approach and go through any type of medical procedure or situation which may cause anxiety and discomfort.

It is two pre-procedural sessions, three post-procedural sessions, and includes a take-home workbook and CDs for initiating the patients’ own innate healing response. One of the exciting things about this program is it incorporates many integrative modalities for wellness:

• Surgery
• CT or PET scans
• Chemotherapy or radiation treatments
• Medical or dental procedures
• Following an injury
• During any illness or hospitalization

I am excited to take this specialized training on July 20-22 at Hermitage Farm in Rochester, MN. I will keep you posted about my progress, as well as Twin Cities healthcare settings that utilize this special service.

One of the IFYE alumni members recently went to Iraq to set up 4-H clubs across the country, giving children and young people something positive and hopeful to focus on. I am deeply inspired by this special project and now see possibilities that healing can happen from a very different angle!

Here’s to holding the vision of world peace … bringing a youth development/leadership organization to a worn-torn region is an important first step.

These amazing, beautiful birds migrate from Mexico and stop along the Platte River near Kearney, Nebraska to re-fuel (eat corn and get water) and rest for approximately six weeks before beginning to fly to Canada and Alaska for their final northern destination.

Luckily, I have a dear Aunt who lives in the area where they land and rejuvenate. I picked up another Aunt in Omaha and we made the trek together. It was so much fun! And it reminded me that women who are doing healing work need to take time out to explore nature, get rejuvenated and connect with family members who are near and dear to us. All of this is very important self-care.

“A Woman’s Voice” is a brand new song written by three Oscar-winning song writers — Marvin Hamlisch and Alan & Marilyn Bergman. It is a very powerful message and a beautiful, gentle reminder for both men and women to awaken to the power of women’s voices.

And this is exactly what the book, Women as Healers: Voices of Vibrancy is about … finding our voices, owning our power and inspiring others to reach their fullest potential. Again, what an exciting time!

On January 26, her son and his family lost everything in a house fire. Miraculously, the family and pets are safe – the house and all of their possessions are gone.  A devastating loss, I ask you to encircle Rosemary and her dear family in light and loving thoughts.
